Ollie’s Story

We are extremely privileged to have been invited to photograph a charity event on behalf of “OLLIE”. We photograph many charity events and they are all in their own way extremely worthwhile. Every now and then a cause comes along that really hits you. Obviously we are campaigning vigorously for the Haiti appeal, and we work closely with the Hilton Foundation. Earlier this week we were approached by the mother of a remarkable young lady who is…I don’t have the words to describe this remarkable young woman, so here are her own words.

Hey. I’m Ollie and I’m 18. I was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma (bone cancer) in January 2009 and I’m doing a webumentary to share my experiences with you.

Every six weeks or so a professional film crew will follow me for a day and you can see the first of these below where I met with Cherie Booth for a photoshoot with Hello Magazine!

I’ll also be filming my own updates which I’ll be doing every few days. My most recent posts can be seen below and you can catch up on anything you might have missed in my archive.

I hope that through my webumentary you can see what my life is like and meet all the people who have helped me, including James, my CLIC Sargent Young People’s Social Worker and my big sister Georgie. Georgie’s preparing for the Virgin London Marathon next year for CLIC Sargent – so you can follow her training too!

To show your support to Georgie, please visit:http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/runningforollie.

I hope you’ll visit my page regularly over the next six months and catch up on what I’m up to.

If you have comments or questions it would be great to hear from you. All you need to do is email me.

Best wishes

Ollie

“Pellier Noir” style, a unique approach to Event Photography - presented by Paul Rogers

Take a look at how everyone else is doing it and then do exactly the opposite. Perhaps some would argue a rather risky approach but nevertheless that is also exactly what Paul Rogers has done!

In Paul’s own words, “Pellier Noir” is the ultimate in High Class Executive Social Event Photography. In 2007 Pellier Event Photography created the Pellier Noir style which is now widely revered throughout the Event Photography world.

Paul has photographed some of the most glamorous and top Charity Balls and Gala Dinners in the UK. Venues include Manchester United, Hilton Park Lane, The Dorchester, The Waldorf Hotel, The Grosvenor House and many more.

Paul has broken away from the bonds of traditional high key “Venture” type Event Photography and has given us something new and unique to think about.

Be sure not to miss Paul’s exciting 50 minute presentation on “Noir”.

Aid For Haiti

From 11.30am this morning tickets for the big family and celebrity charity day went on sale at seetickets.com along with the following press release

Stars from television will be meeting fans at a family charity day at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry to raise funds for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

Actors from Britain’s favourite soaps and one or two surprise guests will be at the event on Sunday, February 28, which will take place between 11am and 5pm in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall.

Actors including, Adam Woodyatt, Pam St Clement, John Altman, Michelle Collins, Scott Maslen and Samantha Womack are hoping to attend subject to filming commitments. More Actors hoping to attend will be announced nearer the time of the event.

Tickets, costing £10 each, are available from www.seetickets.com or by telephoning 0871 2200 260 .  Tickets can also be bought from Coventry City’s ticket office at the Ricoh Arena and its City Central store in the Lower Precinct in the city centre.

Heart FM breakfast DJ Ed James will be appearing while there will also be an indoor fairground and performances from local bands and dancers.

Paul Rogers, one of the organisers, said all the proceeds from the family charity day would be given to help the survivors of the earthquake.

“The Haiti earthquake has affected an estimated three million people and the horrors of surviving such a devastating disaster are difficult to comprehend,” he said.

“We wanted to organise a family charity day with a sprinkling of celebrities to raise much-needed funds to help in the re-building process because of the massive damage caused throughout the country.

“This fundraising day is gathering momentum as the days go by and we are delighted so many celebrities have already agreed to take part.

“As well as taking part in a questions and answers session on stage, the actors will be dotted about the Jaguar Exhibition Hall to sign autographs and have their photos taken but there may be long queues so we can’t guarantee this for everyone.

“We will have several booths for fans to have their photos taken with their idols and we are confident of soon being able to confirm actors from other soaps who will also be appearing.”

Pellier Noir, the Coventry-based Events Photography company, will be providing the photographers and materials free of charge to enable every penny of every photograph sold on the day to go to the Haiti cause.

Liz Cooper, marketing director at the Ricoh Arena, said Arena Coventry Limited, which runs the venue, was waiving the costs of the hire of the Jaguar Exhibition Hall and cleaning contractors LSS are giving their cleaners for free.

“The images on the television and in the newspapers of the devastating effects of the Haiti earthquake have been shocking and disturbing for the whole world,” she said.

“We are confident this event will raise thousands of pounds for this worthwhile world-wide appeal to provide vital aid and equipment to help people begin to recover from the earthquake and we would urge as many people as possible to come along and support the event.”

Paul Oz’s oil painting of June Brown, which has been signed by the artist and the actress, is also being auctioned to raise funds for the appeal. In a gallery, this would be worth £1,500, and on-line bids can be emailed to aidforhaiti@pelliernoir.com

Questions for the celebrities during the on-stage questions and answers session can be posted on www.twitter.com/pelliernoir or on the Facebook site at http://groups.to/aidforhaiti or emailed to aidforhaiti@pelliernoir.com

Doors will open on February 28 at 11.00am via gate 27 which leads straight into the Jaguar Exhibition Hall.

Mitsubishi Electric Agree Sponsorship deal for 2010 with Pellier Photography

Pellier Photography Are Proud to Announce they are Sponsored by Mitsubishi Electric
Pellier Photography has now joined a select few Event Photography companies that have attained a level of professionalism and quality that makes an Event Photogtaphy stand out from the crowd.
Pellier Noir is widely becoming regarded as the new vogue fashion of Social Event Photogtraphy and as such Mitsubishi have decided that Pellier Noir is a brand with which they wish to be associated.
Since our first Event Photography assignment Pellier Photogtraphy have used Mitsubishi printers. Our first was the A4 CP3020DAE dye sub printer. As bookings increased with demand the 3020 was joined by a CP9550DW 9×6 printer, which was closely followed by 2 more printers, the CP9800DW’s
With our distinctive style we have needed printers that can provide us, not only with, rich deep dark blacks but also rich vibrant colours which are associated with low key photography. For us this clearly meant choosing the 9800’s which would not only produce the quality of image we required, but also robustness of the carriage, and importantly speed of print at large social events of on occasions over 2000 guests. this is what the 9800’s give us, and we are now looking forward to being associated with the newCP 9810DW’s.
